Wednesday, September 25, 2013 – Daily News 3B 4-H All Stars named Three Tehama County teens were recently selected as the 20132014 Tehama County 4H All Stars. This award is the highest recognition given in the county for 4-H members. It recognizes their project and leadership accomplishments and provides them with the opportunity for countywide leadership responsibilities. This year's recipients are Aslynn Hubbard, Dartagnan Kingwell, and Katie Conner. Aslynn Hubbard is in her sixth year as a 4-H member in the Westside 4-H Club. Aslynn believes one of her most important leadership roles she has completed thus far has been her time spent as the Teen Leader for the Countywide Rabbit and Cavy Project, aside from holding many club offices throughout her 4-H career. During her year as an All Star, Asylnn is ready to MC and host 4-H events, attend leadership conferences to better herself and help her community. Aslynn's most important 4-H project would have to be her Rabbit and Cavy Project. Along with her 4-H involvement, Aslynn has been chosen as a Leadership Team Member for the upcoming 4-H Youth Camp – this will be her second year attending camp as a staff member. Outside of 4-H she is an active member of the American Rabbit Breeds Association and is involved with ACA soc- Kingwell cer and basketball. Aslynn is a sophomore at Calvary Chapel Academy and would someday like to involved with the movie industry. Aslynn's parents are Cynthia and Donald Hubbard of Red Bluff. Dartagnan Kingwell, is in his ninth year as a 4-H member in the Olive 4-H Club. Dartagnan credits his role on the 2012-2013 B.L.A.S.T. Team, as the most important leadership roles he has had so far. During Dartagnan's year as an All Star, he hopes to encourage more 4-H member's to get more involved in county events such as Fashion Revue as well as their community. Dartagnan's major 4-H projects include: swine, Hubbard Conner archery, sewing and cooking. Outside of 4-H Dartagnan has served as Vice President and Treasurer for his school's Student Councils, enjoys being a teacher's aide and carries a 4.0 GPA. Dartagnan also likes to play volleyball, basketball and softball. Dartagnan is currently in the eighth grade at Kirkwood School and he hopes to be a gunsmith someday. Dartagnan's parents are Linda and Vaughan Smith of Corning. Katie Conner, is in her tenth year as a 4-H member in Plum Valley 4-H Club and she is returning to the All Star team. Katie credits being a B.L.A.S.T. member in the past as well as her role on the 2012-2013 All Star Team, as the most important leadership roles she has had. During this term as an All Star, Katie hopes to promote 100 years in 4-H and to inform others about projects that 4-H has to offer, that are not related to livestock, as well as be very active in their community. Katie's major 4-H projects have included: food preservation, livestock judging and rabbits. Outside of 4-H Katie has made honor roll, she is a mentor for Red Bluff High School, plays various sports and is also a member of FFA. Katie is a sophomore at Red Bluff High School. Katie's parents are Kathy and Ronald Conner of Red Bluff. Congratulations to these 4-H members for their hard work and accomplishments. The All Star Team will kick off their year by attending 4-H State Leadership Conference in July and they will be introduced to the Tehama County Board of Supervisors in September, 2013; promoting National 4-H Week that is held the first week in October.
