Wednesday, September 18, 2013 – Daily News 3A Community people&events LM Library Friends' meeting The first Board of Directors of the Friends will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Los Molinos Library branch, 7881 SR 99E. This is the initial and annual board meeting held by the group working to form a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit for the branch. Board members and officers will be elected. Veterans Day breakfast set Red Bluff's Veteran's Appreciation Breakfast is scheduled for 7-11 a.m. Monday Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Hall at Oak and South Jackson. This breakfast is sponsored by many Red Bluff businesses that want to show appreciation to the veterans and our service men and women who have or are willing to sacrifice their life and freedom for the rest of us. This is a complimentary breakfast for the veterans and service members, all other tickets are $6. Volunteers are needed to cook,serve, decorate, greet, clean and sell tickets. This breakfast requires the assistance of many, via cash donations, and volunteer labor. To donate or to volunteer to work, call 529-3298. The veterans are entertained by local performers. This is a fun morning for all. Breakfast includes sausage, eggs, pancakes, fruit, juice, oatmeal coffee and tea. Fall Play Day Safe Haven Horse Rescue is having its annual Fall Play Day Fundraiser at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Bobby Jones Arena in Cottonwood. The event will include riding, food, fun and raffles. Neglected and abused horses given a second chance will be featured during the event.
