Let's Go Antiquing, Downtown!
One person's attic is another person's treasure and you never know what you will find
until you joint the treasure hunt downtown in a full-fledged antique search for the
one-of-a-kind collectables. Whether it is re-used, re-furbished or just replaced in your
home, you can make your décor unique or a throwback to times gone by with some
walking shoes. Oh, and a truck or SUV to haul your findings home. Furniture, quilts,
vintage clothing and jewelry are a few of the items that you can find on your trek
through the district and here is where to find them:
• Diane's Vintage Market at 242 Hay Street has a wide selection of furniture and
other collectables including jewelry and accessories as well as wall hangings, clocks
and ornamental glassware.
• Shops at 123 Hay Street has beautiful antique furniture, home décor, lamps, vintage dresses and more, things
are constantly moving around and changing, which definitely signals it is a fantastic place to go.
• The Thrifty Patriot located at 226 Franklin Street is the place to go for that Fayetteville and Cumberland
County memorabilia that you may remember, but want to add to your collection, along with furniture and books
that might be on your list as well.
• The Cotton Exchange at 226 Donaldson Street is somewhere you can spend an entire afternoon. There is
something in every nook and cranny in this 7000 square foot antiques mall with more than 20 vendors sharing
their unique collections and wares and on 4th Fridays, there are free rides around downtown on the Cotton
Exchange Express so do not miss the train!
