Ken Prather’s Tehama Herbal Collective was raided Sept. 7 by agents from the Tehama Inter- agency Drug Enforcement team, along with his home and a property he owns in Rancho Tehama. The collective has been cited by the city over zoning issues since it opened and Prather has a court date later this month regarding the citations. Agents claim undercover officers were allowed to purchase plants and marijuana without providing medical recommendations. Barbara Boxer is putting endangered species ahead of Cali- fornia’s farmers. Fiorina on Friday spoke to a crowd of about 300 at the Mill Valley Community Cen- ter. Many identified themselves as members of the Bay Area Patriots and the San Francisco Tea Party. The Marin Indepen- dent Journal reports that Fiorina said she believes it’s important to protect ‘‘fish and flies and frogs’’ but she also believes it’s important to protect jobs as well. Fiorina has been crit- ical of Boxer’s handling of a dispute over the amount of water flowing to Central Valley farm- ers, which some blame on the government’s efforts to protect fish in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. and throughout Red Bluff. A pair of cubs were reportedly seen Tuesday at the corner of Adobe Road and Surrey Vil- lage. On the same day, members of the California Department of Fish and Game and USDA Wildlife Specialists searched Red Bluff for mountain lions. Accompanied by specially trained tracking dogs, officials visited Dog Island Park, For- ward Park and Brickyard Creek. They found nothing to sub- stantiate the claims, according to a press release issued by Red Bluff Police Sgt. Dan Flow- erdew. Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t help but take a light-hearted jab at the state’s former governor that started a 140-character war of words with his fellow Republican on Friday. ‘‘Over Anchorage, AK. Looking everywhere but can’t see Russia from here. Will keep you updated as search continues,’’ Schwarzenegger tweeted as he began a weeklong trade mission to China, Japan and South Korea on Thursday. He sent along a photo of himself gazing out the window of his jet. Palin has previously poked fun at herself after telling an interviewer in 2008 that her qualifications for vice president included that ‘‘you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska.’’ But she had a tart response for Schwarzenegger, who left behind an unresolved $19 billion budget deficit more than two months into California’s new fiscal year. ‘‘Arnold should have landed; I could have explained our multi-billion dollar state surplus & US energy secu- rity efforts. What’s he been up to?’’ she said in her own Twitter message. Schwarzenegger campaigned for Republican presi- dential nominee John McCain two years ago, but has differed with Palin on issues including global warm- ing.
