FKQ XICLONE PHI KAPPA THETA FRATERNITY n IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY n SPRING 2025 T he 2024-25 academic year was another strong performance for Iowa Xi, marked by academic achievements, successful recruitment, continued progress on chapter house improvements, and a top three finish in this year's Greek Week. HELLOS AND GOODBYES Our recruitment team—Owen Ellsworth '27, Drew Bennet '26, and Steven Nguyen '27—welcomed 20 new members, reflecting their outstanding efforts and commitment throughout the year. We also celebrated the accomplishments of 14 graduating seniors, creating space for new leadership and continued chapter growth. STAYING ON TOP Academically, Iowa Xi built on last year's momentum with an impressive chapter GPA of 3.21. Supporting this success were targeted initiatives such as résumé workshops, a revitalized scholarship committee, and upgrades to the solarium, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence and personal development. We've emphasized maintaining this success for next year and will continue to help new members succeed both inside and outside the classroom. GREEK WEEK Another highlight was Greek Week, where we partnered with Gamma Phi Beta and Kappa Sigma under the fairytale theme Once Upon a Greek. Together, we earned first place finishes in multiple events, including tournaments, karaoke, alumni donations, and the Polar Bear Plunge, which ultimately secured us second place overall! Altogether, we brought home five new Greek Week trophies and countless podium placements. Our chapter's most meaningful contribution to this second-place finish came through the Polar Bear Plunge, benefiting Special Olympics Iowa. Intending to raise $75 per member, undergraduates surpassed expectations by raising $11,278. A generous $2,500 donation from the Iowa Xi Foundation helped secure the award for most alumni contributions. We are incredibly thankful for this support from our local alumni and everyone who supports us in such efforts. In total, Once Upon a Greek contributed over $40,000, winning first place, while our Greek community raised over $380,000. KEEPING THE HOUSE FRESH Thanks to alumni support, chapter house upgrades also continued this year. Notable improvements included new flooring in the second- floor communal bathroom and enhanced lighting in the solarium, with additional furnishings, including new office chairs and a television, on the way. LOOKING AHEAD With continued support from our alumni and the momentum of this year's success, Iowa Xi is well positioned for continued growth, leadership development, and academic achievement. While the undergraduates are proud of this year's accomplishments, we look forward to building on this success.
