| | | | | | Chapter Updates cont. | | | | | | As we continue to expand our impact on the campus community, I would like to share some of the most im- pressive examples of our campus leadership and involvement. Battery Workforce Challenge Spotlight, Jack Martin – '25 Brother Martin is a senior mechanical engineering undergraduate, simulta- neously pursuing his master's degree in engineering management through the Rose Squared program. His pursuit of this graduate degree has given Jack the unique op- portunity to take an influential role in a unique competition team that Rose is par- ticipating in: Battery Workforce Challenge. Battery Workforce Challenge is a pres- tigious three-year collegiate engineering competition launched by the U.S. Depart- ment of Energy and Stellantis. This program challenges North American universi- ties and their community college partners to design, build, test, and integrate an advanced electric vehicle battery pack into a Stellantis vehicle, while developing real-world skills to drive innovation in the growing EV industry. Rose-Hulman is competing against 11 other institutions – including Clemson University, Ohio State University, and California State University - Los Angeles – making it the only col- lege from Indiana selected for this challenge. Jack's role as Project Manager tasked him with the organization and maintenance of project scope, budgeting, and work scheduling simultaneously for over 100 students in 6 sub-teams as they work through the competition. Jack also serves as a recruiter of sorts within ATO for Battery Workforce Chal- lenge, overseeing over 15 ATO's joining as team members to strengthen and develop their skills. Residence Life Spotlight, Spencer Cruse – '27 Brother Cruse is a sophomore chemical engineering undergraduate, who is currently serving Rose-Hulman as a sophomore advisor. Spencer is the only sophomore advisor in ATO currently and his presence is beneficial to our cam- pus image and relationship with the school. After living this coming year in the fraternity house Spencer hopes to con- tinue his journey in Rose-Hulman residence life by becoming a resident assistant in his senior year at Rose. This upcoming school year Brother Cruse will become one of the first members of a new campus mental health committee supported by the JED foundation. This committee will include representatives from students and staff in every area of Rose-Hulman, it is intended to drive lasting changes in student mental health through this collaboration. Brother Cruse hopes to be a positive voice for the Greek and overall student community in these efforts. In addition to the notable involvement above, we also have many brothers involved in athletics, some with no- table accomplishments. Including in track and field Brother Logan Phillips '27 placing 2 nd and 4 th respectively in the 400 meter hurdles and 110 meter hurdles, as well as Brother James DiMarco '28 placing 4 th alongside him in the 400 meter hurdles at the HCAC outdoor championships. In golf Brothers Austin Frick '27 and Nate Benson '28 played piv- otal roles in Rose-Hulman taking home the 2025 HCAC championship, with Austin finishing second overall in the tournament. Earlier this calendar year in swimming ATO had Brothers Matteo Calviello '26, Tommaso Calviello '26, Aron Varga '28, and Travis Zinzer '28 contributing a combined 149 points to Rose-Hulman winning the 2025 HCAC championship. Brothers Max Wilking 26', Owen Wiesler 26', and Grayson Richmond 27' are involved in the Rose-Hulman Interfraternity Council (IFC). Notably, Brother Wilking and Richmond are both the on the IFC executive board IFC – serving as President and Secretary/Treasurer. They serve as advocates for our chapter through the shaping of the rules of health and safety, recruitment, and discipline, as well as demonstrating ATO leadership in Greek affairs. This year in student government Jack Cooperman '25 and Jack Martin '25 concluded their terms as President and Secretary respectively. Tristan Stephens is continuing ATO's inclusion in student government as a representative included in the Data and Financial committees. - Tim Swicord '26 President Brothers Rouch, Martin, Ebert, and Luke after receiving the 3 rd Place Overall and Best Battery Module Design awards Campus Involvement 6
