In a similar way to how our pledge class improved our academics significantly last year, our recruitment once again shaped our academic performance after initiation in early February. This year's pledge class showed less optimal results when averaged with the upperclassmen grades. In my eyes, though, this is an opportunity to im- prove our academic programming through mentoring both directly in aca- demic subjects, and indirectly through time management and organization. To add some perspective through numbers, our most recent term Cumulative GPA in the Winter of 24- 25 school year was 3.031. This is 0.180 lower than one year before, where the chapter was at 3.211. While the winter quarter does tend to warrant lower grade point averages for a host of reasons, the larger than usual drop in grade point average numbers implies that there is more work to be done. Through peer mentoring outcomes, positive reinforcement through academic dinners, and our chapters leadership making it a top priority, I believe that this is an obstacle to overcome and learn from in the coming quarters and years. - Tim Swicord '26 President Academic Update In February, a dozen Gamma Gamma ATO brothers attended the regional Greek InterVarsity Conference in Indianapolis, IN. Greek Inter- Varsity is a community that helps undergraduate students within fraterni- ties and sororities enhance their faith through Greek life. Brothers Austin Frick and Logan Schuld kicked off the weekend by sharing their own personal testimonies with their walks of faith while being in Greek life. The brothers enjoyed their time that they spent in Indianapolis talking with other Greek students and taking steps in their own faith. During Sat- urday night's dinner the ATO brothers from the Epsilon Zeta Chapter (Louisiana State University) and our Gamma Gamma chapter received a surprise visit from Wynn Smiley, the CEO of the Alpha Tau Omega na- tional fraternity. We ate dinner and had a great time sharing stories between the two chapters. To give my own personal testimony, this is my second time attending Greek Conference and I was once again thrilled attend. Over the last two years, I have pushed my walk of faith to areas I couldn't have ever imagined. I have grown as a person and a young man, in many ways – all due to the brothers of this chapter pushing me to attend this con- ference. It's a special brotherhood that I'm surrounded by, and I am more than blessed to be a part of it. - Ryan "Nellie" Nelson Former Alumni Relations Officer Left to Right: Reese Rouch, Richard Peters, Josh Pearson, Kay- den Pierre, Tommy Wright, Boone Gibson, Wynn Smiley, Logan Schuld, Grayson Richmond, Nellie Nelson, Austin Frick , James Boles, Robbie McVey Brothers Frick and Schuld speaking at the confer- Greek Intervarsity Conference 5 Term GPA CUM GPA All 3.031 3.135 NI 2.601 2.944 Y1 2.631 2.933 Y2 2.892 3.220 Y3 3.142 3.145 Y4 3.579 3.247 Y5+ 3.187 2.817
