Ronald Foley Sr. '62 is 81 years old and
has been retired for four years. He lives in
Carversville, Pa., and has nine grandchildren

William J. Alexander '68 still works part-time
as a medical consultant to small pharmaceutical
companies after a 10-year public health career
in Birmingham. He recently attended the
MSU Famous Maroon Band Alumni Weekend
and marched on Scott Field with the "other
dinosaurs," playing Hail State as best he could.
He and his wife, Laura, reside in Cary, N.C.,
with children and grandchildren in Apex and

Walter T. Costilow '68 is an award-winning
watercolor artist and serves as president of the
Watercolor Society of Alabama. His aviation art
has been displayed at the National U.S. Air Force
Museum, the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum,
the Pima Air Museum, and the Naval Pawtucket
Flight Test Museum. He lives in Vestavia Hills,

Ronald S. Poole '69 retired from the University
of Mississippi Medical Center in 2014 after 34
years. He has lived in south Madison County for
the past 30 years and keeps busy maintaining a
house and a 3.5-acre lot with lots of Bermuda

John P. Conn '71 retired in 2012 and
volunteers with the National Park Service
giving historical tours at Ship Island. He is also
an active member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast
Corvette Club and the Ham Radio MDXA

Paul D. Smith '81 is enjoying what he calls the
"fourth stage of retirement," i.e., serving others.
He joined the Woodstock, Ga., Lions Club in
May 2024, which supports eight global causes
including hunger, vision, childhood cancer,

Matthew T. Beese '95 moved back to
Akron, Ohio, in 2000 and graduated from the
University of Akron in 2002. Since 2005, he
has been living and working on the family farm.
