F our members from Indiana Zeta Chapter are being recognized for their scholarship, campus, and community involvement through the generosity of Fraternity Brother Albert L. Lund '48. James McMurray '26, of Evansville, Indiana; Calvin Thompson '26, of Noblesville, Indiana; Robert Ballentine '26, of Crown Point, Indiana; and Jacob Lichtenheld '27, of Glenn Ellyn, Illinois, each received $5,000 scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year. The Albert Lund Awards are the largest Greek-based scholarship awards on the DePauw campus. Since their inception, 48 DePauw Phis have received Lund scholarships, totaling more than $400,000. Lund established the scholarship fund in 1999 to reward members of his Fraternity for their dedication to academics and involvement in campus and community activities. His son, Larry Lund '77, returned to campus to announce the scholarship recipients at a scholarship dinner at The Inn at DePauw. He was joined by his sister, Lindsey Lund Peterik, and other alumni supporters. "My father was a Rector Scholar at DePauw, and without that money, (he) could not have attended this University," Larry said. "DePauw and Phi Delta Theta are two of his greatest loves, and his gifts ensure that both remain strong. My dad got tremendous satisfaction in helping these young men achieve their goals, and he especially enjoyed the letters and emails he exchanged with the Lund scholars and learning how their lives developed." Alumni are welcomed to add to the fund, and generous gifts have recently been received from Bill Powell '57, Bob Allen '61, and Tom Bridges '82. If you'd like to make a gift— which DePauw recognizes and manages—please reach out to cl.johnston83@gmail.com for special instructions. CONGRATULATIONS, Lund Scholarship Recipients Larry Lund '77 and Lindsey Lund Peterik '74 with the 2025 Albert Lund Award recipients (from left): Jim McMurray '26, Calvin Thompson '26, Jacob Lichtenheld '27, and Rob Ballentine '26. We Are Proud of Your Achievements! CHAPTER GRAND
