THETA THETA CHAPTER OF SIGMA CHI FRATERNITY | UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN | SPRING 2025 T he House Corporation continues its work maintaining the property at 548 S. State Street. Over the past year, our major projects included repairing and replacing stairs and flooring throughout the house. On top of that, there are always a variety of small items that need to be addressed to meet our code obligations. We have some plumbing work coming up to keep the bathrooms and showers operating and are planning for eventual roof repairs. Our finances are solid, and we continue to be in a good position to address the needs of our 113-year-old house. We are optimistic that our number of live-in brothers will increase next year toward a recent era high of 32, up from 26 this year. One of the challenges for the House Corporation over the past 10 years has been the nationwide trend for members to only live in the house for one year, if at all. We've worked with the undergraduates to address this, and they have changed their bylaws to require at least one year in the house. Our location is the best on campus, and we are doing our part to keep it in great shape. DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED We can always use additional help if you are able to contribute, either financially or with your time. Alumni donations pay for this mailing and our efforts to keep our database up to date and everyone connected. We are determined to eliminate our existing mortgage debt of $104,000, and we've been able to direct some recent contributions toward that goal. Please fill out and return the enclosed card with your gift for 2025. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Timewise, we can always use more brothers willing to join either the House Corporation or the Alumni Advisory Board to meet directly (or by Zoom) with the Chapter leadership. During our monthly meetings, we provide guidance and best practices as they manage our Chapter. You can reach out to me directly to learn more about how you could attend meetings and find ways to participate. ALUMNI MAKE A DIFFERENCE Stay Involved with Sigma Chi SEE YOU IN OCTOBER?
