The chapter continues to excel on all fronts. While we don't have statistics from fall 2024 yet, we are expecting the same high level of performance as last spring's 3.5 GPA from our 180+ undergraduates. Undergraduate Fall Successes Fall saw the introduction of a new member class, a slew of social events and football games, and several impactful philanthropy events. We welcomed the new chapter officers in December and hosted the 2025 planning retreat at the UT Club. The 2024 officers excelled under the leadership of Michael DiCecco '25, and we expect the same level of performance under the new president, Amine Yacob '26. Read more from the undergraduates on page 3! Remembering John Tyler '63 I would like to offer a personal tribute to a recently departed Texas Alpha icon. I first met John in August 1985. I had just come back to Texas Alpha for the fall semester when a car with several alumni pulled up to the house with John at the wheel. He introduced himself and told me to pack because I was going to the National Conclave in San Antonio. I had no clue that John was opening a door to what it meant to really be a part of Texas Alpha. Two years later, he stood with me and Robert Heintzleman '88 as we dedicated the oak trees that still grow in front of the house. John mentored me and others in the chapter regarding law school, our professional goals, and just life in general. He loved Texas Alpha, and we loved him. He will be sorely missed. HFF, Lynn Butler '88 (512) 479-9758 lynn.butler@huschblackwell.com DIVING INTO A NEW YEAR State of the Chapter Sam Long '25, Michael DiCecco '25, Johnny Snell '25, and Benton Koch '25 show off their carefully chosen outfits during a themed formal. Sophomores Andrew Parks, Preston Herleth, Austin Simpson, Sebastian Lechin, Henry Kinzel, Andrew Thomas, Jack Mabley, John Houston, Lincoln Colter, and Cade Hanlen cheer on our Longhorns at the SEC Football Championship. We Asked New Members... WHY SIGEP? Fletcher Dowell '28 "When I arrived at my first SigEp event, I only knew five active members—I left with 20 new friends. That's when I first saw the brotherhood that forms between everyone in the chapter. My whole first semester has been living proof of this, and I could not be happier with my decision." Teel Hensey '28 "I chose SigEp because of older brothers within the fraternity who will help me throughout all phases of college life and guide me to become a better friend to those around me." Jack Millin '28 "The second I walked into my first event it was obvious that everyone shared the same principles of humility and hard work that I had been taught my entire life." Burke Ramirez '28 "I chose to go SigEp because when I visited my brother, everyone was genuine and made it clear what Texas Alpha brotherhood truly stands for."
