Page 2 M aine Alpha has continued to solidify its reputation as a leading organization on campus. Our focus on fostering academic excellence, developing leadership skills and cultivating a strong brotherhood has positioned us as a vital part of the Greek community. This report will provide an overview of the chapter's key achievements, ongoing challenges and goals we've set for the future. It encapsulates the efforts we've put into recruiting, academic development, philanthropy, social events and alumni relations over the past semester. Membership Update It has been an exciting time for recruitment, as we successfully welcomed 19 brothers into the chapter. These men come from a variety of academic years and backgrounds, enhancing the diversity and strength of our brotherhood. Please welcome freshmen Braden Rioux, Branden Mastrianno, Noah Prescott, Ray Dineen, Benjamin Nathan, Jack Emerson, Eli Corridon-Crum, Ethan Roach, Cooper Gobeil, Andrew Paine, Nathan Polley, Cooper Sawyer and Calvin Hersey; sophomores Malachi Lowery, Peter Verhar, Hayden Leone, Drew Denoncour and Gabriel Mckenney; and junior Kegan Tripp. Our recruitment efforts have expanded our undergraduate chapter to 62, demonstrating our ability to attract and retain committed, high-caliber individuals. This growth in membership not only reflects the success of our recruitment strategies but also signifies the increasing interest in SigEp's values among students at the University of Maine. Through a series of recruitment events, we connected with individuals who embody the principles of the Balanced Man Program, which emphasizes continuous development in areas like academics, leadership and community involvement. Academic and Leadership Development In the spring, Maine Alpha achieved an impressive 3.53 GPA, surpassing all other Greek organizations on campus. Over the last four years, we've maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.42, the highest in the Greek Life community. This accomplishment is a testament to the academic dedication of our brothers and the supportive environment we cultivate within the chapter. We are deeply committed to leadership development, as many of our brothers hold leadership positions both within the chapter and in other campus organizations, contributing not only to our Fraternity's success but also to the broader university community. Our chapter actively promotes opportunities for members to grow as leaders, whether through workshops, leadership retreats, or holding officer positions within SigEp. Philanthropy and Community Service This semester, SigEp Maine Alpha has been raising both awareness and funds for important causes. One of our key philanthropic events was the Campout for Partners for Peace, during which brothers camped on the university mall 24/7 for an entire week. This initiative raised $2,449 to support domestic abuse awareness, underscoring our commitment to supporting local communities in meaningful ways. Additionally, we organized the 9/11 Red Bandana Ruck, a physically demanding event where brothers ran the same number of stairs, plus five stairs for every $1 raised (3,350 total), as the firefighters who responded to the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.
