Why We Joined Hear from Some of Our New Members "Going into recruitment, I truly had no idea what to expect, especially since my mom wasn't in a sorority. Chi O was my last house of the first round; from the very first conversation, I knew it was special. Their welcoming nature and authenticity made me feel like I truly belonged, and I left every conversation feeling so excited. I'm thankful I get to be a part of this Chapter." –Graysen Pinder '28 "Immediately walking into Chi O, I felt like I was home. Every girl was so genuine—it didn't feel like I had to impress them— and so interested in our conversations and wanting to get to know me." –Arden Jones '28 "For the people! It's rare to find a group of girls that are all-in for each other. They really mean it when they say the people make the place. The house being inaccessible this year means nothing when you see the genuine friendship and love these girls have for each other—that's what drew me to them." –Dani Dorta '28 "The minute I stepped into the Carolina Inn, I felt the radiating warmth and love. I could tell just from my conversations this was a sorority that valued unconditional love, genuineness, and true sisterhood. Chi O was everything I was looking for in a sorority, and I am so proud to say I am a part of this Chapter." –Caroline Hulbert '28 "Walking into Philanthropy Day, I was inspired and touched by the genuineness that came from Chi O speaking about Make-A- Wish. It is an extremely important organization to me, and it's clearly a big part of Chi O. It isn't just something they 'have' to do, it's fundamental to who they are. Speaking of who Chi O is, I was immediately struck by the authenticity of the girls. After only a few days, I can tell that these girls just get it. They're not just with you on your good days. I'm so lucky to be a member of this empowering group of best friends dedicated to making the world a better place." –Gracie Stevens '28 "The girls truly just felt like home. From our first conversations over Zoom up until Bid Day, I've never felt out of place or like I had to pretend to be someone I'm not. As an out-of-stater from a small school in New York, the idea of coming to such a huge state school down south was quite intimidating, and I was worried about losing myself in the new culture and community here. The XO girls made me realize that with the right people, those fears will never become a reality. They have made me laugh and cry (tears of joy), and feel accepted, seen, and heard for all I truly am since day one of recruitment, and for that, I am eternally grateful and proud to call them my family." –Cora Lynn Mundy '28
