p. 3 SIGMA PHI EPSILON T exas Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon experienced a successful and dynamic spring 2024 semester, marked by achievements in academics, leadership, philanthropy, and personal growth. GRADES ARE THE GOAL Our chapter's dedication to academic excellence continues to shine, paired with a retention rate consistently above 90%. We maintain a robust academic advising program, led by SLC Chairman Ethan Hale '25, that pairs freshmen with upperclassmen in their same major, ensuring they receive the guidance needed for registration, advising, and maintaining high academic standards. This program has contributed to our chapter's impressive GPA and strong academic culture. NOTABLE ON CAMPUS Our members are at the forefront of campus life. Several brothers hold prestigious positions. • Jackson Osteen '25 serves as president of the University Finance Association, one of the largest organizations within the McCombs School of Business. • Several members are part of elite engineering honor societies. • Members also serve with the university's most prestigious service and spirit organizations: the Silver Spurs and Cowboys. • Texas Athletics brothers Ethan Burke '26, Joe Tatum '26, Colin Paige '26, and Brandon Bertsch '27 represent the university and chapter across the country. HELPING OTHERS Our chapter's philanthropic efforts have been outstanding. We have continued our partnership with Zavala Elementary School, where our members mentor and tutor third- and fourth-grade students, making a lasting impact on their education and development. Additionally, through various campus events, we have raised and donated over $25,000 to charities supporting veterans and cancer research, reflecting our commitment to giving back to the community. MAKING TIME FOR BROTHERHOOD Beyond academics and philanthropy, our brotherhood events have focused on personal growth and well-being. Our mental health committee, headed up by Grayson Gates '26, has been instrumental in providing support to brothers, and they have organized workshops on balancing school life and stress. This initiative has been crucial in fostering a supportive and resilient community within our chapter. Our well-attended Bible study groups offer brothers the opportunity to explore and deepen their faith, contributing to their personal and spiritual development. READY FOR A FALL REPEAT! In summary, spring 2024 was a period of continued success for Texas Alpha Chapter. Our commitment to academic excellence, leadership, philanthropy, and personal growth has strengthened our chapter and prepared us for even greater achievements in the future.
