SIGMA NEWS GAMMA PHI BETA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS • FALL 2024 W e are thrilled to welcome Monica Strathman, a proud alumna of K-State who had an impressive 27-year tenure there as an employee. She served as a house director for both fraterni es and sorori es, earning the affec onate nickname Momica. Monica is excited to join Gamma Phi Beta. "I'm eager to get to know the women of Gamma Phi Beta and support them as they learn more about themselves, others, and the world around them." Our mission, vision, and guiding principles par cularly resonate with her. "Building confident women of character who celebrate and upli others while making a posi ve impact in the world is something I deeply aspire to, and it's what I've always tried to ins ll in my own daughters." U P D A T E S F R O M 1 3 3 9 W . C A M P U S R O A D Embracing Positive Change SISTER SEND-OFF A er an incredible 38 years of service, Brenda Press Harden '78 is stepping down from the AHC board. Brenda has been an invaluable volunteer, and our gra tude for her dedica on and contribu ons knows no bounds. We extend our hear elt thanks to Britny Fix Wood '93, who is concluding her term on the board as well. We appreciate her service and commitment. SUMMER REFRESHERS As always, the AHC has been hard at work maintaining and enhancing our Gamma Phi Beta home. This summer, we replaced several ma resses, purchased new bunk beds, refurbished the back hallway with branded rugs and fresh paint, reupholstered furniture in our Gamma Phi colors, and provided new dressers for our live-in members. Addi onally, when the kitchen's air condi oning unit failed during recruitment week, it was promptly replaced, though the unexpected expense underscored the importance of sound financial management.
