Page 3 Stocks and Stogies Alumni Talk Money with Ohio Theta O n Saturday, April 6, Ohio Theta hosted a panel of three alumni for a professional development event, Stocks and Stogies. Michael Caldwell '17, Paul Hart '08, and Luke Gromen '99 spoke about various topics in the financial industry and provided undergraduates with valuable advice about budgeting, negotiation, investing, and general knowledge about the economy. Michael spoke first, explaining how he balances account spending and how to apply that to our personal budgets. Paul spoke next about different types of equity compensation that employers offer and how to negotiate these in a job offer. Finally, Luke answered the question of "what is money?" by explaining how to leverage debt to build your wealth. Alumni Volunteer Council President Rey Medina '99 then gave a closing presentation on cigar etiquette and how to correctly smoke a cigar. The brothers and alumni then went outside to enjoy a cigar for the afternoon. This event was a huge success, and we look forward to developing it in the years to come.
