Page 2 O hio Theta welcomed 20 new members this spring, representing 13 different majors, including industrial management, mechanical engineering, and sports administration. As a part of the annual Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards, SigEp took home four prestigious honors: Career Readiness and Leadership Development Award, Identity and Inclusion Award, Mason Gumm: Co-operative Education Leader Award, and (most importantly) IFC Chapter of the Year. Most recently, Ohio Theta received the following awards from Sigma Phi Epsilon Headquarters: the Zollinger Senior Award to Jake Michael, the Excelsior Cup for Chapter and Housing Operations Excellence, and the AVC Operations Leadership Award. This award highlights the impressive work of the executive board, alumni volunteers, and members of Ohio Theta. In March, we held our annual Queen of Hearts Formal, where 12 women representing five sororities were nominated to become the next SigEp Sweetheart. The formal was preceded by a Q&A session where brothers asked the nominees what it means to be a SigEp. In Greek Week, nine brothers performed in the Greek Variety show and placed second. Throughout the semester, brothers made their mark in intramurals, including basketball, football, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. Additionally, Brother Jacob Schulte '25 was selected to attend the prestigious Tragos Quest to Greece, an honor only a small number of SigEps receive. Trevor Fleming '26 was chosen to be on the undergraduate council for nationals and attend the Ruck Leadership Institute with Carter Burt '26 in Richmond, Virginia, this summer. Ohio Theta hosted a SigEp Stromboli philanthropy event on March 5 alongside the Dragonfly Foundation to raise money for cancer patients worldwide. Brothers served homemade stromboli to other chapters and guests in the chapter room, successfully raising $800. Overall, this semester was filled with incredible milestones, exciting events, and exceptional leadership opportunities. Ohio Theta has a bright semester ahead when we return in the fall. Members at the 2024 Carlson Leadership Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. O n February 9 and 10, six executive members and eight rising leaders of Ohio Theta traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for the annual Carlson Leadership Academy! Here, brothers developed leadership skills, exchanged operational ideas, and connected with honorary alumni. The event kicked off Friday night with a keynote speaker, accompanied by a dinner and interactive breaks that encouraged brothers to network. On Saturday afternoon, exec members broke off into groups respective to their roles, sharing ideas with our SigEp brothers from the South and connecting with mentors who once held their positions. Rising leaders learned how to develop themselves into prominent figures within their chapter, along with ways they can create the most desirable SigEp experience when they transition into leadership roles. Each breakout room was visited by several members of the SigEp National Board of Directors along with a National Undergraduate Representative. The event ended with a fantastic speech touching on how SigEp plays a crucial role in one's professional development and, when done correctly, can be a life-altering program. All in all, Ohio Theta's time at CLA brought new experiences, ideas, and connections back to the walls of 321 Joselin and helped inspire brothers to pursue the ideal SigEp experience!
