MODERN SOUTHERN BELLE Remembering Lisa Dart Waddell '8 Remembering Lisa Dart Waddell '86 T his past December, the KD "Ladies of the '80s" had to say goodbye to their dear sweet sister Lisa Dart Waddell '86. Lisa, a hometown Tallahassee girl, was a wife, mother, aunt, sister, and a loyal close friend to so many. She was a hard-working, goal-oriented, successful professional; a team player; and a support system to everyone around her. Lisa was focused, energetic, kind, nurturing, and thoughtful. If you had a problem, Lisa had advice. If you wanted to take a spontaneous trip, Lisa would be by your side, luggage in hand. She always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and a giggle on the edge of her lips. One of her many outstanding qualities was her approachability. Everyone she met felt comfortable in her presence. She was open but soft-spoken, greeting everyone with a calm warmth, displaying a genuine interest in getting to know them personally. Many people gravitated to Lisa, reaching out to her even if significant time had passed, just to keep in touch. Her characteristics of unbelievable strength and courage shone brightly as she bravely faced her health diagnosis, never sitting idle, always pushing forward. She never complained and she never gave up. The definition of a Modern Southern Belle is a woman characterized by Southern hospitality, a cultivation of beauty, and a flirtatious yet virtuous demeanor. Embracing the culture of the Ladies of the '80s, along with Lisa's husband and daughter, gather in Tampa to remember Lisa Dart Waddell '86. Front row: Mary Catherine Waddell and Jim Waddell.
