Our Undergraduate Members continue to thrive as they contribute to the UA community socially and academically. Fall 2023 brought our Chapter another strong group of new Members, ready to grow and committed to our values. A Message from ABT Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days O L D GO A TS REC A P T he Old Goats Lunch Bunch ventured outside of Jefferson County for the first time in mid-November. Thank you, Joe Serio '76, for arranging our quarterly gathering at Amerigo's in Huntsville. It was a HUGE success! Twenty- two brothers from four states (Ala., La., Tenn., and N.J.) attended, five of whom joined us for the first time. As always, the camaraderie was outstanding. Even though we might not have seen some brothers for decades, it never takes long to bond and close the time gap. Considering our collective histories from earlier decades, it is noteworthy that three ordained members of the clergy were among the 22 in attendance! This year, they outnumbered lawyers. It was particularly great to see Clint Baggett '72. Two months after major surgery to remove a large acoustic neuroma, a noncancerous brain tumor, he drove to Huntsville with his wife, Rebecca, riding shotgun. Interestingly, Ron Alsbrooks '73 had the same surgery in 1996 and conferred with Clint numerous times before and after surgery. Clint credits the Lord, prayers from his Delta Chi brothers, and Ron's help with successfully getting him through surgery and recovery.
