He was always thankful for social media and other Chapter communications and has enjoyed visiting the Chapter House on game days. Then in early 2022, with both sons grown (including Dylan '25 as an Active Brother), David accepted a role on the Alumni Board of Trustees. "I wanted to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Chapter, and it has been a great experience getting to know the Actives and providing guidance when needed," he said. "The Fraternity is fortunate to have a group of fantastic young men who display tremendous leadership in the house and across campus." Succeeding Together David wanted to find a Fraternity where Brotherhood was a priority, and it was clear from the start that Delta Chi was the closest-knit group at The University of Alabama. "I believe Dylan noticed the same thing when he joined," he said. From getting to know his Brothers to spending time together as Chris Seymour '93 played guitar, and even meeting his wife at the Chapter House, there were so many little moments that turned out to be David's greatest memories. "Delta Chi also taught me the importance of relationships and working within a group," David said. "We all become better problem solvers and accomplish much more when we are connected to others. Whatever we take on, personally or professionally, it is great to know we have support from people who care about us." Lifting Others Up David has worked at Jefferson State Community College for 29 years, including 23 as Director of Community and Media Relations. An active member of the Shelby County community, he's been fortunate to work with many great leaders and causes in his life and career. His current roles include President of the Board of Education for Shelby County Schools, President of the Indian Springs Kiwanis Club, board member and former President of Leadership Shelby County and several more; he's also a former youth baseball and football coach. "The best part of these positions has been helping young people grow, learn and better prepare for life's challenges." His advice to active Brothers: be loyal, help one another and cherish your time with your Brothers. "I look forward to being more involved with Delta Chi activities and connections moving forward." David enjoys spending his free time with his wife of 29 years, Cindy, and his two sons; Carson is a recent Princeton graduate who lettered in football, and Dylan is enjoying his time as an Alabama Chapter officer. The family has enjoyed traveling for Alabama and Princeton football games in recent years. You can connect with David at dbobo@jeffersonstate.edu.
