When discussing plans for the future, the board iden fied regular communica on with our chapter's alumnae about goals, projects, and campaigns as a top priority. We're looking forward to reconnec ng with many of you through this process! We will also be launching a Facebook page, "Gamma Phi Beta, Epsilon Lambda Chapter – AHC Board," where we will be sharing addi onal updates and photos. This summer, board members Addie Bunn Shake '10, Hannah Weiss '13, Alexa Campbell Crawford '14, and I had the opportunity to a end Gamma Phi Beta's Housing and Facili es Conference. Through discussions with other AHC board members and conference presenters, we gained valuable insight and best prac ces on topics from emergency preparedness to capital campaigns. We'll be pu ng this informa on to good use as we evaluate opportuni es for our "new" house as it nears 10 years of age! Several areas of the house have already been updated, including a major update to the informal living room and foyer and minor updates to the dining room. "Behind the scenes" updates are ongoing as well—the A/C has needed a en on along with several appliances in the kitchen. These are less fun but just as necessary to keep our house func oning! Finally, we want you to join us in Tuscaloosa on February 2-4 to celebrate Epsilon Lambda's 35th anniversary! Please be on the lookout for more detailed informa on via Facebook and email. KEEPING OUR HOME UP TO DATE O ne of our priori es this year was to purchase new furniture for the bedrooms. Audrey Herndon '14, one of our AHC Vice Presidents, worked with collegians to determine the wants and needs of current live-in members. They se led on furniture from Smarter Furnishings, based locally in Birmingham. The furniture is not only built to withstand the wear and tear of years of use but is also a rac ve and easy to decorate around. The addi on of headboards and increased storage has been a hit! A glimpse at our updated foyer. New bedroom furniture in the room of Bella Watson '22 and Sydney Watkins '22. What's New at Epsilon Lambda? Updates om the Affiliated House Corporation Our New House Director WELCOME TO EPSILON LAMBDA, DIANE! T he chapter and AHC are thrilled to welcome Diane Valdez, our chapter's new house director. Miss Diane comes to us from Sigma Kappa at the University of Florida and has extensive experience in not only sorority house management but also interior design and the food service industry. This will be Miss Diane's ninth year as a house director, and we're grateful for the knowledge and exper se she brings. If you happen to stop by the house, please introduce yourself! Miss Diane would love to say hello.
