She was born and raised in Gaston County. Margaret is proceeded in death by her late hus- band, Curtis Martin; parents, Odell Lutz and Ellen P. Lutz; nephews, Joshua Lutz and Jacob Lutz. Left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Wanda, Dell and Phillip Lutz (Laura); and several neph- ews and nieces. She was a member of the Gospel/Bluegrass Band, Iron Station Bluegrass with her husband and band members, she remembers as family. No services are planned at Margaret's request. Olivia Diane Taylor Olivia Diane Taylor, age 77, passed away November 10, 2023. Diane was born in 1946, in Rutherford County, NC, to parents, the late Paul and Ethel Beam Fite. She was a graduate of Chase High School. She was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Jerry Fite, Vickie Ayers, and Evelyn Bradley, along with her daughter, Tammy Lynn Ayers. Diane was married to the late Henry Taylor. She was also a devoted mother to her children, including her son, Robert David Ayers, and wife, Nina Nok Ayers; her daughter, Sherry Linda Hinson; and her daughter, Sheila Ayers, and her hus- band, Alan Hall. Other sur- vivors include brother Gene Fite and wife Joyce, and sister-in-law Gail Fite. Diane's legacy contin- ues through her nine grand- children and numerous great-grandchildren. Mike Ruff Mike Ruff, age 68 of Forest City died Thursday, November 9, 2023. Mike was born January 9, 1955, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Charles Junior Ruff and Loretta Phillips Ruff. He had worked as a Recreation Manager for Rutherford County Parks and Recreation. He was a mem- ber of the Florence Baptist Church and was a veteran serving two enlistments in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. Mike received his Associates Degree from Isothermal Community College and his Bachelors from Western Carolina University. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherri Crawford. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Davis Ruff, his sons, William Conrad Ruff of Nashville, TN, and Alexander Bennett Ruff of Forest City, his brother, Marty Ruff of Forest City, and sisters, Sandy Thomas of Cliffside, Linda Sprouse of Forest City and Angel Maxwell of Mooresboro. The funeral was held November 14 at Florence Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Selman and Rev. Tonya Garrison officiating. Military honors were accord- ed by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. An online guest reg- istry is available at www. padgettking.com Rita Ellis Wells Rita Ann Ellis Wells of Bostic, NC passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was the daughter of the late George Cleo and Lillian Greene Ellis and the older sister of the late Olivia Gail Ellis Toney. She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Claude Robert Wells, Jr. and daughters Renee Wells Crawford (Calvin) of Bessemer City, and Regina Wells Boyd (Woody) of Waynesville, and three grandchildren. Rita was a 1959 gradu- ate of Ellenboro School. She was called to a career of nursing and graduated from Gaston Memorial School of Nursing in 1962. She spent her career of 43 years in nursing in Cleveland County. She began as a nurse with a private practice before joining the staff of Royster Memorial Hospital where she became Director of Nursing. She worked until 2005 with the Cleveland County Health Department. She organized the Alzheimer Support Group for Cleveland, Rutherford and Polk Counties as well as wrote and created an Alzheimer's Support Guide for Caregivers. She was brought up along with her family in Concord Baptist Church. She later became a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Services were held November 13 at Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Ad Hopper and Pastor E. Scott Whitener officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks loved ones to consider making donations in Rita's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Cleveland County, or South Mountain Christian Youth Camp. Norris was born, March 22, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Gilford Young Tate and Eliza Queen Tate. He worked in the dye and bleaching room at Stonecutter Mill for most of his life until retirement. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Adams Tate; grandson, Caleb Lee Richards and sisters, Betty Jo Wilson, Alice Smith and Lucille Lane. Those left to treasure his memory include his children, Ann Tate Barnett of Henrietta, Jean Hudson (Richard) of Bostic, Tammy Tate of Rutherfordton and Thomas Norris Tate, Jr. (Susan) of Ellenboro; sister, Diane Tate of Ellenboro; ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Beuna Wiseman Watson Beuna Wiseman Watson, 97, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, November 11, 2023. She was the daughter of the late James and Octavia Wiseman. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Watson; a daughter, Sally Kuhn; and a son, Wayne Watson. She was a member of Brittain Presbyterian Church. She is sur- vived by daughters, Dianne McEnnerney of Rutherfordton, and Jeane Watson of Spindale; her son, Chuck Watson and wife Brooke, of Rutherfordton; sister, Lois Touchette of Spruce Pine; nine grand- children, 15 great grandchil- dren, and two great great grandchildren. Don was born June 9, 1936 in Polk County, NC to the late Fay McEntyre and May Bell Crowe Williams. He was a graduate of Oxnard Union High School. He was owner and operator of Blue Max Hobbies and ABC Hobby Shop. Don was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Suttle McEntyre; daughter, Kimberly McEntyre and his stepfather, Ted Williams. Those left to trea- sure his memory include his sons, Donnie Kay McEntyre (Caroline) of Riverside, CA and Bobby McEntyre of Rutherfordton; daughter, Lorrie Gleghorn of Vancouver, WA; broth- er, Ronnie McEntyre; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
