The Crescent page 2 D elta Mu's school year is off to a great start as we enjoy the beautifully updated Tri Delta House! A THRILLING RECRUITMENT The 2023 pledge class has been welcomed to the Delta Dome after many recruitment week activities! Several alumnae volunteers said this was one of the most successful recruitment weeks in years. NEW BIDS ON THE BLOCK After that, our 140 new members traveled to "Camp DDD," where they swam in the lake, rode water slides, and roasted marshmallows. Although everyone enjoyed the camp activities, their favorite part was getting to meet their new sisters. The following week, we kicked off the semester with a New Bids on the Block pool party at North River Yacht Club to celebrate our new sisters. It was a great night to meet new friends and relax after the first few days of school. MILLION-DOLLAR CHAPTER Delta Mu is excited to announce that we raised over $90,000 last year for St. Jude! Philanthropy Director Riley Adam '20 represented Delta Mu in Memphis this summer and accepted an award for being one of the few Tri Delta Chapters to raise over $1 million for our national philanthropy. (In fact, Delta Mu has hit the $2 million mark for St. Jude as of last spring!) We look forward to amazing philanthropy events in the year ahead, including Gameday Giveback, 15K in a Day, DHOP, and Sincerely Yours. ACADEMICS AND INVOLVEMENT Sisters are studying hard! We had 158 members earn a spot on the dean's list with a 3.5 GPA, and 126 made the president's list with a 4.0. We are so proud of our girls' hard work and dedication to their studies. Delta Mu is very proud of our Capstone Women, Alex Dunn- Cordova '21 and Emmerson Hart '21. We are also delighted for our members who were elected to Student Government Association positions: SGA Secretary Olivia Frazier '21, Arts and Sciences Senator Emma Blackmon '23, and Education Senator Maddie Wiltshire '21. This year, Olivia Ashberry '20 represents Delta Mu as president of Professional Women in Communications and Business. It's such an honor to lead Delta Mu, and I can't wait for another year of accomplishment!
