E ach year, Kappa Delta hosts a Shamrock Run 5K during Parent's Weekend to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America, Child Abuse Prevention Services in Tuscaloosa, and Children's Trust Fund of Alabama. Shamrock Run 2022 raised more than $100,000, which is a personal record for our Chapter! The event was extra special this year because we not only raised a record amount of money, but we were also able to share this event with our other philanthropies. We had Girl Scout troops from Tuscaloosa selling cookies after the event and Crossing Points students from The University of Alabama were cheering us on at the water stations along the route! Speaking of Crossing Points, one of our favorite service nights is hosting a prom for its students. Crossing Points is a UA program for college-aged students with intellectual disabilities. They had a blast dressing up, riding in a limo, and dancing all night. It is great to celebrate such a wonderful group of students. Love in AOT, Ally LeBlanc '20 Past Vice President of Events and Programming Giving Back to Our Community Kappa Delta Breaks a Service Record! T his past year, I have had the honor to serve as Panhellenic delegate of Kappa Delta. It has been a joy to represent Kappa Delta in the Alabama Panhellenic Association and form relationships with other sororities. Every other week, other Panhellenic delegates and I met with Panhellenic Executive to discuss events and further our Greek community. More external work for this job included voting on Panhellenic and recruitment bylaw revisions. It has also been exciting to serve the Tuscaloosa community and hold events for its families, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt. My internal work was a blast as well. From intramural sports like basketball and soccer to planning Homecoming and its many festivities, it has been so rewarding and fulfilling to see our women get involved in activities they love. My biggest takeaway has been making countless friendships inside and out of Kappa Delta and seeing how our Panhellenic community continues to strive by serving others.
