The Future of Gamma Gamma Fundraising S o, what's next? Now that we are very close to the target for com- mitments to the Building on Ron Reeves' Legacy housing cam- paign, the focus of the campaign team has shifted. First, we continue to remain diligent in ensuring that we fully collect on campaign pledges, and that monthly process is going very well. We are also using the campaign team to continue to improve our alumni contact information so that these newsletters can reach as many Gamma Gamma brothers as possible. A portion of the campaign funds is creating a Capital Fund (previously referred to in this newsletter as a Capital Endowment) that the Housing Corporation and Chapter will be able to use to address future needs that might otherwise have required a separate fund- raising program. Clear guidelines have been established for how these funds are to be used. They will not be used for routine opera- tions or upkeep of the facilities. That will be funded by the Chapter through their rent. The Chapter and Housing Corporation will plan and budget not only for routine, annual costs, but also for those items which tend to be longer-term expenses and for those unexpected ex- penses which always come up when least expected. The Capital Fund will exist to tackle major capital items that are man- dated for compliance by the school, ATΩ National or government regulations. It will also be available to address catastrophic and un- controllable Acts of Nature. It can also be used to address competi- tive threats to membership and house occupancy. The Housing Cor- poration Board will control and authorize any distributions for the above needs over time. We will keep the Capital Fund open for future taxable or non-taxable (through the ATΩ Foundation) donations which will certainly be needed to meet inflationary pressures in these areas and the ever- increasing pressures of societal expectations. We intend to keep the Chapter relevant and the facilities in top condition for generations to come. We have heard that many alumni would like to be able to make dona- tions that directly enhance Member academic performance and the expense challenges of attending Rose-Hulman. In addition to the housing fund that we established through direct contributions and contributions made through the ATΩ Foundation, there is a fund al- ready established specifically for scholarship. Although we have not discussed this actively during the house campaign, going forward we will provide more information about that fund and how you can make a difference for our Members. If you have questions about continuing to support the Capital Fund or the Scholarship Fund please contact Rob Banerjee at: ineedat- rain@yahoo.com, or Bob Pease at: robertpease4178@gmail.com Building on Ron Reeves' Legacy Campaign Overview As of November 1, 2022 Donations and Pledges: $3.138M Funds Received: $1.980M Total Contributors: 331 Anticipated 15 year Mortgage: $600k At retirement of construction loan in 2026 Anticipated Capital Fund: $350k Fund will remain open to allow future donations . Gaming Marathon O ctober 12 th , 2022, we hosted our annual gaming marathon. Plat- forms such as Twitch and YouTube give us a unique opportuni- ty to raise money for charity while being able to play videogames. Brothers from all over the United States could stream videogames to help raise money, which was helpful since the event took place over our Fall break from Rose-Hulman. The goal of the event was to stream videogames for 24 hours straight to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital. We had 44 brothers participate in this event by playing videogames. This being our biggest service event of the year we try to get as much participation as possible, so brothers were encouraged to at least send out the link to raise money even if they could not participate in play- ing videogames. We had over 10 streams on Twitch of different brothers playing videogames going throughout the 24 hours to help raise money. Our original goal for the event was to raise $3,000 however we blew that number out of the water by raising $5,384 for Riley Children's Hospital. This could not have been done without the generous alumni base and amazing participation from the brothers this year. Brother Andrew Forche successfully streamed the whole 24 hours and Patrick Kelly had the most donations by raising $1,000 on his own. The event was a huge success, and we thank all those that generously donated. Trevor Ley '24 Social Service Chair \\\\\\\\\\\\ FUNDRAISING UPDATE \\\\\\\\\\\\ Social Services Update
