the lyre letter XI CHAPTER OF ALPHA CHI OMEGA | UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN | FALL 2022 I recently presented to a sorority audience regarding domestic violence awareness. During my presentation, I caught myself mentioning often that a sorority experience is more than four years. I say this to you, sisters, because we all need to remember that our commitment to Alpha Chi Omega is a choice. While we may all be in different stages of our lives, there are many ways to give back. Now is the time for each of us to reflect what Alpha Chi means to us. How can we keep the legacy of our sisterhood alive and the walls at 716 not only standing, but also safe, with the most up-to-date features for our undergraduate members? I ask that each of you take a moment now to look at the time, talent, or treasure that you can offer to our sisterhood. We have an upcoming renovation, and as you can imagine, the time and the funds needed to update multiple bathrooms are immense. Think about the times you spent waiting in line to shower, chatting with a sister during recruitment. Or how about yelling the oh so important "flush" if you knew someone was in the shower while you were in a bathroom stall? Do you have that picture in your mind? Some of those same features are still in the bathroom you are picturing and it is time to bring it up to 2022 standards. We nd your support now more than ever! If you are interested in supporting Xi's House Corporation Board, please reach out and let us know how you can help. For more information on becoming involved, please contact Kristen Onkka '05 at (402) 981- 3184 or email hcbtreasurer@gmail.com. All through recruitment week, I talked to so many amazing members, and every night, AXO was always running through my mind. I was looking for a place where I wouldn't feel judged and where I would feel like I could walk in a room and talk to anyone. That's what Alpha Chi Omega has given me. I never feel like I need to look perfect or be perfect to fit in and have never met a more amazing group of women. I'm so grateful for what AXO has and will continue to give me for the rest of my life." Meg Brady '22 "I not only saw role models and Real. Strong. Women. in the house, but I also saw women in line with me who I wanted to be sisters with forever."
