DELTA CHI NEWS ALUMNI NEWSLETTER | OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY | FALL 2022 The State of the Shelter Our New Home Is Strong— Let's Keep It That Way A s you read in our previous newsletter, the House Corporation held elections during the Annual Meeting in April. Once again, we'd like to congratulate our newest board members, Michael Barker '78, Shae Roggendorff '92, and Andy Ingraham '11, on their election and thank them for their hard work this year; all are serving Delta Chi well. It's hard to believe that a year has passed since our Shelter dedication—but much less surprising that our active brothers LOVE their new home! A home that hundreds of you helped build with your generosity. If you couldn't join those alumni during the Pledge Delt Again campaign, fear not: you can still lend a hand financially! The campaign may be over, but Delta Chi will continue spending time and money to maintain this new Shelter. This starts with the mortgage on our property, which we hope to lower as quickly as possible. You can help us manage this by making a gift TODAY. It could also be the difference in how competitive our membership dues will remain, impacting the potential gain or loss of outstanding members and recruits. Alumni support can do many things for us with or without an active campaign. Whether you're a new or returning donor, there's always time to support our brothers. Don't forget to join Delt for Homecoming on Friday, October 21! Walkaround will be a great time to visit the Shelter, enjoy some refreshments, and catch up with your brothers. Fraternally, Joe Millar '68 Vice President/Treasurer jlmillar8@gmail.com A Year to Remember DELTS CELEBRATE SPRING SUCCESS AND PREPARE FOR FALL EVENTS T he spring semester was a strong one for the brothers of Delta Tau Delta. In grades, we finished 11th last semester and are striving to make a big move this current semester. Seven new members were initiated from the spring class. We held our philanthropy event, Delt Dogs, which saw a good turnout from the community. Nick Bailey '23 and Peyton Sosnowski '23 were both elected to the IFC Executive Board. Payton Brezina '24 represented Delta Tau Delta as a member of Junior Greek Leadership. Steven May '22 and Matthew Moore '24 were both accepted to be presenters for Greek 100. Finally, Delta Chi received the Alexander Calder Award at Karnea, honoring our new Shelter. Our recruitment team worked hard this summer to bring the best men to our fraternity. We welcomed 31 new members this fall and are excited for what they will bring to the table. If you know a potential new member for next spring or fall, please contact our recruitment chairman (info on page 2) to refer them to us. DELTA TAU DELTA AND ITS MEMBERS HAVE SET THREE GOALS FOR THE FALL SEMESTER: Win a Hughes Shield Award for being one of the top Delt chapters in the nation. The members believe that we are more than capable of this, and they must have faith in one another. Win Homecoming and make the top three in grades among fraternities. Connect with our amazing alumni even more. The chapter bought a smoker so it can be used at alumni events and tailgates. We are excited to strengthen the bonds between generations of Delts. Lastly, Delta Chi paired with Phi Mu for America's Greatest Homecoming and with Tri Delta for Freshman Follies. Both are major events on campus and always boost the morale of the Delts who participate. The ladies in both sororities were excited to begin the hard work for this year's events. We look forward to seeing alumni for Homecoming and showing many of you the new Shelter for the first time. Hope you enjoy it all! Fraternally, Matthew Moore '24 Chapter President matthewmmoore24@gmail.com (469) 506-3101 Chester Helmberger '24 and Aden Struble '24 accept the Alexander Calder Award at Karnea on behalf of our chapter and Shelter. 1 2 3
