PAGE 2 F ormer Chapter President Ralph L. Clock '62 has recently returned to live in Englewood, Colorado, to be closer to his son, daughter, and four grandchildren. He was married to Nazira Tavares Clock in 2009. Brother Clock was born on July 31, 1938, and is originally from Newport Beach, California, where he attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School. He served as Beta Kappa's "Brother E" in 1961. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a BS in civil engineering, he left Boulder and returned to Newport Beach, where he started his own construction company and consulting firm. He served as the owner and president of both Clock Construction and Clock Construction Consultants. His consulting firm specialized in pre-acquisition physical building inspections for real estate investors and industrial users. Ralph retired in 2017 after a long and successful career encompassing many facets of the commercial and residential construction industry. Brother Clock is fondly remembered by BK Fijis of the 1960s era as the "linchpin" for many Beta Kappa reunions and gatherings over the years. His Fiji brother Stan Harwood '60, who sadly passed to Ad Astra in 2021, was quoted as joking, "Ralph is like glue. But in a good way!" We asked Brother Clock for one of his favorite Boulder Fiji memories. He stated, quite simply, "My time in Boulder was very special. I made friendships that have lasted me a lifetime. I remained quite close to many of my Fiji brothers over the past 60 years. I wouldn't trade that experience for the world." Colorado is happy to have you back, "Brother E!" With an unusually small number of men during spring recruitment, it took the hard work and dedication of Recruitment Chairman James Zygmunt '24, along with support from the brothers, to ensure we stood out as a thriving Chapter in search of the highest quality gentlemen.
