F ollowing a year of uncertainty, fear, COVID-19 restrictions, and lockdowns, Delta Triton Chapter has emerged stronger than ever. Beginning in fall 2021, we had our most successful recruitment season ever, taking in a pledge class of 28 men who represent our chapter well. With Purdue University allowing events to return, our chapter needed to develop new ways to host social events. This was a massive success, as we were able to build strong connections with other Greek houses on our campus. Furthermore, our chapter participated in many philanthropic events around campus, even winning a paint swap competition. We also hosted a successful "Breakfast with Santa" event that raised money for the Special Olympics of Indiana. We improved our sustainability efforts by participating in programs for food waste and recyclables within Purdue University. Our chapter continued service events in the community by volunteering at a food pantry and walking dogs for a local dog shelter. Throughout the spring, Delta Triton Chapter brought more men into our fraternity and continued with our social events, service, and sustainability efforts. A new committee was successfully formed to improve the mental and physical health of brothers. Further into the spring semester, bonds between brothers throughout the house were strengthened as many of us took spring break trips together and visited Chicago for a weekend when hosting our formal, an event that had not occurred in a few years. To finish the semester, we hosted Melonfest, another philanthropy event. This event included a dunk tank, inflatable jousting, food, and many watermelons for all to enjoy. As the semester comes to an end, the chapter is excited to see our racing team perform at Purdue University's annual Grand Prix race. Our brothers are working hard to do well on our finals while also looking toward the summer, where many of our members will be working internships at impressive companies. We are sad to see our graduating brothers go, though we can be proud of what they have done for the house and all its members. We look forward to the great accomplishments they will make in their careers and lives.
