(Continued from page 1) Early Lessons in Politics Reagan to campus. "That was a big day for us, and those roles were an integral part of my learning experience outside of the academics." Delta Triton Chapter was reinstated at Purdue just prior to George's initiation, and active members were fortunate to have help from local alumni. After his graduation, George made sure to visit the campus whenever he could. Today, he remains in contact with pledge class brothers and Delta Triton members from various years thanks to social media. "It's something that you never lose. We're brothers, and that bond has continued more than 30 years after I graduated." After graduation, George started his own business selling products to clients in the hospitality industry. His business connection to Jägermeister led to the brand sponsoring Phi Sigma Kappa's go-kart. His venture into local politics began much later when he took office as county legislator in 2010. He became a Chautauqua County executive for two years before his current role as a state senator. George has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 25 years. They own and operate their business together, a resort community called Sunset Bay USA. Though politics and business ventures have kept him busy, George always enjoyed returning to the chapter house and seeing new faces over the years. "No matter how much further the years went on, I still felt that brotherhood with these young guys who I didn't even really know because we all had something in common. And we're all 'Damn Proud!' to be Phi Sigs." You can connect with George at borrello@icloud.com. George Borrello '89 serving as a New York state senator. Part of being a complete person is giving back and having a diverse set of skills.
