5 T his fall, our members found a newly renovated Chapter House upon their return to Ames, Iowa. After a year of construction and quarantines, we were eager to be involved in the community once again. Over the summer, our Chapter was recognized by the national fraternity as one of the best in the nation with the achievement of a Top TKE Chapter award. Senior Nick Holaday '18 E-2357 was recognized at the national level as a recipient of the Lon G. Justice Scholarship, and we couldn't be prouder! Despite the complications we've faced in the past year, our Fraters still came out strong; we had a GPA of 3.18, and we hope to increase this number in the coming years. Now that classes are gradually returning to normal, we've collaborated a plan to better support members in the transition back to in-person courses and revised our academic program. Academic team leaders arrange weekly meetings and study hours with their teams to promote good habits as well as allow members to be held accountable to the high standards Epsilon Chapter places on its members. With more events returning, we are thrilled to gather in the community once again. Our philanthropy chairmen, Zachary T. Reese '18 E-2348 and Zach McDaniel '20 E-2420, are excited to raise thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital this year. We began the year with a Labor Day car wash to raise $1,300. This fall, we have sold parking spots in our parking lot on game days and hosted our haunted house-themed philanthropy, Screams for St. Jude. Our members were thrilled to participate in Homecoming festivities this year after the inability to have Homecoming last year. We had a great showing of members at community service events, such as the blood drive and the Blue Sky 5K. In addition, members put in countless hours of work toward Homecoming activities such as Yell like Hell and Lawn Display. In all, we had a great time!
