He has been a key leader in the Chapter, serving as VP of Member Development in 2020, making necessary changes to provide a meaningful experience for brothers despite the pandemic. He then took over as Chapter president, continuing to set the example and standard for Florida Alpha and culminating in another Buchanan Cup for the Chapter at the most recent Conclave. Ryan McKeever '23 has committed himself to improving several aspects of the Florida Alpha Chapter, most notably serving as VP of Communications. On campus, he has served as a student government senator and as an academic researcher focused on bringing awareness to food pantry demographics and behavior. Due to his vast commitment to SigEp and UF, he truly embodies the Fraternity's cardinal principles. Michael Laventure '23 has played an integral role in ensuring the Chapter's success in philanthropy and programming since joining in the fall of 2019. He has served as the 2020 philanthropy chairman, where he organized the annual Surf Frenzy event benefiting the Florida Diabetes Camp. Then, he was elected VP of Programming, leading the Chapter's social and philanthropic events throughout 2021. Ray Andresen '23 has committed himself to improving the experience of the brothers in the Chapter through his involvement in member development. He has served as the head challenge coordinator, aiding all challenge coordinators from a bird's-eye view. Additionally, he played an important role in the Sigma Challenge as coordinator and put the Fraternity first as a past brotherhood chairman. Aside from all he does with member development, he has also been an asset in recruitment as a captain. Parker Rossignol '24 has devoted his time to SigEp on the recruitment and programming committees. He has worked with the Balanced Man Scholarship as a co-chairman. Additionally, he served as assistant director for Keystone Florida and assistant director of accountability for Gator Growl. BMS Scholarship Nicholas Waid '25 has dedicated himself to serving his community and helping those around him. He is a man who serves out of his own passion for the well-being of others and seeks to lead his peers through the example of his own virtue. He balanced his time as a leader in his Boy Scout troop and his youth group, all while playing varsity baseball and achieving academic excellence. This scholarship recipient is a prime example of someone who can balance their academics, community involvement, and athletics. Let's Cheer on the Gators F lorida Gator football is back and the excitement levels around campus are at an all-time high. The FAU game on September 4, 2021, was the first real Gator football experience I had since becoming a student. By comparison, the silence was deafening around campus for game days in the 2020 fall semester, even for a home game. Now, campus is buzzing with pent-up excitement and anticipation for The Swamp to be at full capacity with the Rowdy Reptiles in full swing. For many brothers, the tailgate leading up to the FAU game was their first, since much of the Chapter is made up of brothers who had yet to experience a non-COVID game day. After that successful and exciting game day, the brothers of Florida Alpha couldn't wait for the home game of the year against the football powerhouse that is Alabama. This game was the ultimate way to celebrate the return of college football fans, and even though we lost by 2, we all had a great time cheering on our Gators. Fraternally, Austin Armbruster '24 UF vs. FAU on September 4, 2021.
