F lorida Alpha's spring 2021 semester came together nicely, as we had a taste of normalcy and were able to safely operate as a Chapter once again. We were able to conclude our spring semester with our annual white water rafting brotherhood trip in Auburn, Alabama, and our spring formal in Savannah, Georgia. During the summer, our brothers took on prestigious internships and co-ops across not only the state of Florida, but also the entire country—working at Shands Hospital, Proctor & Gamble, and RSM Consulting to name a few. Florida Alpha entered the fall 2021 semester with tremendous momentum after being awarded our second consecutive Buchanan Cup at the 57th Grand Chapter Conclave in Denver, Colorado, this past July. I would like to thank our exceptional alumni, volunteers, faculty fellows, and past regional directors for the work that you all have attributed to put us in this position. We constantly challenge our undergraduates to leave a legacy within our Chapter and to leave Florida Alpha better than how they found it. I believe these two ideologies paired with the never-ending alumni support culminated in our second Buchanan Cup. In a similar vein, Florida Alpha also entered the fall semester with our committee's involvement in Chapter operations. Specifically, formal recruitment was a tremendous success during the last week of August 2021. We recruited the biggest class since recolonizing due to excellent work by VP of Recruitment Carson Boogaart '23 and the entire recruitment committee. We now have 40 new brothers representing our fall 2021 class that we could not be more stoked for. Moving forward, we have shifted our focus to 365 recruitment and are optimistic about our efforts there. From a brotherhood aspect, VP of Member Development Jacob Smith '23 has done a phenomenal job creating atmospheres and environments for our brotherhood to thrive. We are excited for paintball trips and the introduction of our three-on-three basketball league this fall. From a programming aspect, we are excited to have tailgates once again at the Chapter House before home football games. VP of Programming Michael Laventure '23 and our risk management team have worked hard to bring the Chapter up to speed on how to operate a safe tailgate. We're looking forward to the ensuing months and are aiming to constantly raise the bar we set for ourselves while capitalizing on all the opportunities given around us. A last note of appreciation, I wanted to thank each and every alumnus and volunteer who continuously pours time into our Chapter. Your time and wisdom never go unnoticed, and we would not be in the position we are today without you all. HFF, Evan Savage '22 Chapter President S upport is needed each year to keep Florida Alpha going, and our alumni continue to make an impact. We are appreciative of our alumni who have given to the annual campaign in 2021. The contributors named below—listed in their lifetime giving levels—have given taxable and tax-deductible gifts to Florida Alpha, which in 2021 totals $16,388. We hope all alumni will support Florida Alpha's annual campaign now and in the future. This list is as of October 13, 2021. Don't see your name below?
