Cook '62 is a professor emeritus of the history department of Florida International University in Miami. He is also an author, and co-author with Alexandra Parma Cook, of numerous books and articles on the colonial Hispanic Americas with focus on disease and conquest, the plague in Seville, and transatlantic bigamy. Mead Jr. '67 practices law at Dean Mead Law Firm and hopes to retire at the end of 2022. When he's not working, he enjoys reading up on Civil War history.
