William Lester "Blue Butt" Martin, Jr. 84, of Hickory Grove, passed away Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, at his home. Born in Kings Creek, he was the husband of Carolyn Marie Martin and the son of the late William Lester "Shorty" Martin Sr. and Winnie Wright Martin. Mr. Martin served our coun- try in the National Guard. He was preced- ed in death by his mother, Winnie W. Martin, his father, William L. "Shorty" Martin Sr., his step-mother, Sarah Rosebud Martin, his sister, Linda M. Owens, his brothers, D. Wayne Martin, Norris S. Martin, and Bruce W. Martin, and a grandson. Surviving Mr. Martin are his wife, Carolyn M. Martin, and his four children, L. Dale Martin of Shelby, NC, B. Gail Morrow of Kodak, TN, Michael R. Martin (Tammy) and John Glenn Martin, both from Smyrna, SC; brothers, Richard L. Martin and Kenny A. Martin; sisters, Hazel M. Adams and Helen M. GERALDINE NIX Geraldine Nix, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Fair Haven Home in Bostic. Geraldine was born Friday, August 16, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Walter James Bailey and Altha Cooper Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Audrey Philbeck and Faye Earley and a broth- er, Royce Bailey. Those left to cherish her memory include her daugh- ters, Tammy Morrow (Eddie) of Rutherfordton, Tonda Pye (Wayne Smith) of Casar, NC; son, Terry Davis (Lynn) of Dallas, NC; her sister, Pat Bedford of Forest City; two brothers, Bobby Bailey (Linda) of Forest City and Walter Bailey (Ann) of Shelby; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Born in Cleveland County on March 20, 1965, he was the son of Harriett Keever Wilson and the late Donald Paul Wilson, Sr. In addition to his moth- er Harriett, Don is survived by his sister, Judith Wilson Freeman and her husband, Terry; one son, Steaphan Paul Wilson and wife, Brittany; and four grandchil- dren.
