Born in Lincoln County, on December 24, 1943 he was the son of the late J.C. Willis and Vergie Wright Willis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sisters; sis- ter, Linda Miller and three brothers, Wayne Willis, Gary "Pete" Willis and James Willis. Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Taltha Turner Willis; son, Dennis Willis of Vale; two daughters, Karen Doolittle of Vale and Renee Jenkins and husband, Jason of Taylorsville; three sisters, Sharon Hicks, Joy Walker and Robin Bumgarner all of Vale; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchil- dren. A Funeral Service was held October 14, 2021 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel. The burial followed the service in the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. GLENN WILFORD ANTHONY Glenn Wilford Anthony, Jr., age 80, of Paul H. Beam Road, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Atrium Lincoln. He was born December 28, 1940, in Gaston County to the late Glenn Wilford, Sr. and Lillie Pruett Anthony. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Beam, and Dot Newton. He is survived by his wife, Linda Boyles Anthony; daughters, Carla Anthony Holt (DJ), and Dana Anthony Abernathy (Randy); a grand- daughter; a step-grand- ED BROWN Ed Brown, 77, of Blacksburg, passed away on Monday, October 11th, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, he was the hus- band of Diane Lee Brown and the son of the late James Eli Brown and Mary Novella Harris Brown. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Chucky Brown (Leah) and Timmy Brown (Angie); two brothers, J. D. Brown and Larry Brown; four sis- ters, Joanne Patterson, Louise Byars, Linda Wilson, and Helen Martin; and four grandchildren. JERMINE MELTON PATTERSON Jermine "Jeri" Melton Patterson, age 89 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 2021. She is survived by her children, Wanda Bridges of Ellenboro, NC, Connie Young (Bill) of Lexington, KY, and Kathy Forbes (Jim) of Shelby, NC; a daughter- in-law, Darla Patterson of Shelby, NC; eight grandchil- dren; thirteen great grand- children; and two brothers, James H. Melton (Shirley) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Bruce Melton (Sue) of Myrtle Beach, SC. Born January 12, 1932 in Rutherford County, NC, Jeri was the daughter of the late George May and Hattie (Ramsey) Melton and was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Charles Patterson; a son, Gary Patterson; a son-in-law, Max Bridges; a sister, Ruth Yates; and three brothers, Charles Melton, Ray Melton, and Sam Melton. A funeral service was held October 16, 2021 at Pleasant City Church conducted by Rev. Bryan Glisson, Rev. Gary Marburger, and Rev. Barry Yates. Burial followed at Cleveland Memorial Park. Born in Catawba County on March 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Fred Ray Sailors and Alta Viola Cook Sailors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Setzer and one granddaughter. Mr. Sailors is survived by his wife, Kay Houser Sailors; one son, Michael Sailors of Lawndale; two sisters, Kay Bingham and husband Henry of Fallston and Diann Hedrick and husband Jim of Vale; and one granddaughter, two great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Mary was born on January 26, 1931 to Goodloe Gooch Sommers and Elizabeth S. Sommers in Charlotte, NC. Mary is survived by her sons: Charles A. Neisler Jr., George Scott Neisler and Lee Sommers Neisler, six grandchildren; and two great grandsons. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, and a grandson. EARL McCURRY Earl McCurry, age 85, of Lexington, NC, formerly of Caroleen, passed away, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Hospice of Davidson County in Lexington. Earl was born Sunday, June 21, 1936 in Rutherford County to the late Grady Lee McCurry and Cora Blanche Murray McCurry. Mr. McCurry served our country in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Joanna Hawkins McCurry; son, Todd McCurry and wife, Vicky; daughter, Alicia Trollinger; and two grand- children.
