BETA RAYS A PUBLICATION OF BETA SIGMA PSI AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY SUMMER 2021 Pointing the Way toWard a Brighter Future For Beta ChaPter O ver the last year, the Beta Chapter Alumni Board and actives have been working on a long- term vision to advance Beta Sigma Psi's mission of creating Christ-like servant leaders for our families, churches, communities, and society. You received communication via letter and email summarizing our five-point vision, which we are calling "Vision Ad Astra." Our plan focuses on improving the financial independence of the Chapter House, increasing the benefits that actives receive from living there, and proactively addressing the physical condition of the house. We are asking you to be on the lookout for this, and that you read it purposely and prayerfully. To accomplish this vision, the actives and Alumni Board will need teamwork as well as the support, feedback, and prayers of everyone. Please read the letter included in this publication for more information on how you can help. If you know of anyone we are missing from our mailing list, please let us know so we can make sure they are added. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to send those to dan.stoppenhagen@gmail.com. VISION AD ASTRA Mark Your Calendars: "We're Back!" Join Us for Homecoming October 2, 2021 O bviously, the last year has been incredibly tough for the Boilermaker family and everyone around the country. Because of COVID-19, we have been unable to get together and enjoy the fellowship of brotherhood that has benefited so many of us over the years. Well, that is about to change. With vaccination rates increasing and the campus reopening to visitors (not to mention our 100th anniversary drawing nearer), we have tentatively scheduled a grand "We're Back!" event for Purdue Homecoming 2021. We want to see as many alumni and parents as possible at this event. We are excited to showcase: n The progress we have made in recruiting future servant leaders into the house. n Our new programs for developing leadership and life skills. n How far we have come in improving the physical condition of the Chapter House. n Establishing a self-sustaining financial model to continue our mission for the next 100 years. We are even more excited just to welcome everyone back to rekindle old friendships and make new memories. Please mark your calendars for the big October 2 event. More details to follow this summer.
