Ocampo was one of twenty-one business plans presented during the day. On Friday, a panel of local judges, Dan Gilliland from Superior California Economic Development Corpora- tion, Tyler Smail from Edward Jones Financial and Tim Morehouse from the Job Training Center, ranked the students in a business plan competition which included Power- Point presentations, com- mercials, and posters. Six finalists were cho- sen to compete in a final round for cash and prizes which included a round trip ticket, lodging and registration to the Ulti- mate Teen Life Summit at Disney World July 18-24. Throughout the week the group of 16-21 year olds learned the in’s and out’s of running their own business. From making a good impression to understand- ing risk, learning about the stock market to researching consumer wants and needs, they stretched their comfort zones and started thinking like entrepreneurs. Frank Kennedy of InSight, was the class instructor. Residing in Pennsylvania, Kennedy has taught hundreds of students around the globe. Kennedy combines his love for teaching and magic tricks with his pas- sion for business. Accord- ing to participant Alicia Shearer, "As an instructor, Frank was more than I could have asked for. He was fun, energetic, and entertaining. He presented things in a way we could understand and remem- ber. This has to be one of the best classes I’ve ever taken."
