Notes from MIZ KΔ KAPPA DELTA | UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI | FALL 2020 L ast semester we closed the chapter facility in March and gave refunds to our members for the remainder of the term. I feel very fortunate that we have women on our board who made wise financial decisions over the years, putting us in this strong position while keeping our staff fully employed with benefits. We know they share our love for Epsilon Iota, and ensuring their stability during this uncertain time was important to us. Over the summer, the house corporation board thoroughly prepared the chapter house to welcome our active sisters back to for the fall semester. While this semester turned out much different than any other in Epsilon Iota's history, we were confident in our active sisters' ability to get through the fall semester safely. We knew it was a possibility that members would test positive for COVID-19 when they returned to campus. e board set up alternate housing to isolate members who tested positive, set out hand sanitizer stations and Plexiglas dividers, required masks in all public spaces, and ensured the women were set up to follow Kappa Delta, local, and university social distancing and safety policies. Our chapter members have taken these precautions seriously and showed incredible resilience. Although we wish sisters did not have to navigate such challenging times during college, we are so proud of their accomplishments and the creative ways they kept the KD sisterhood strong! Please keep them in your thoughts as they prepare for finals and travel back home for the holidays. We have exciting things to share with you in the next few months, so stay tuned for updates from the house corporation. Until then, please consider reaching out to a sister. Reflect with her your favorite KD memories. Kind words from a friend may be just what someone needs during this difficult year. We cannot wait until we can all be back at 606. Please take care. Liz had no idea how significant that event would be for her when she was paired with a Sigma Chi fraternity brother by the name of Brad Pitt. "Brad was an excellent dancer and had great rhythm," Liz recalls. "We danced all night. He was a very nice date and a total gentleman." Mystery Date also played a big role in Liz's life when she met her husband for another date. "He likes to tell people that I chose him over Brad." ough she didn't realize it for years, Liz feels Kappa Delta may have helped give her confidence. She has lived in several different cities and always loves meeting new people. "Every move is kind of like another recruitment; looking for my new friends is a fun challenge." (Continued on page 4)
