BRENDA JOYCE PRUITTE HARBINSON Brenda Joyce Pruitte Harbinson, age 76 of Cherryville, NC passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1944 in Gaston County to the late Joseph Lawrence and Edith Inez Anthony Pruitte. Survivors include her son, Donnie Harbinson (Debbie); daughters, Barbara Lovett (Timothy Wade) and Annmarie Colbert (Randy); sisters, Pat Ginn (Dan), Jane Hancock, and Carolyn Hanlin (Kenneth); grand- children, Chase Harbinson, Brandon Harbinson, Daniel Carpenter, Morgan Lovett, and Joshua Colbert; and great grandchildren, Austin Harbinson, Anita Colbert, and Harper Colbert. She was born in Shelby on August 10, 1932, the beloved daughter of Hunter Ramseur Neisler and Anne Lutz Neisler. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Oates Plonk, Jr.; her only sibling, Hunter Ramseur Neisler, Jr. (Chip); and her firstborn, Anne Hunter Plonk Boone. EUGENE "GENE" THOMAS HOLMES Eugene "Gene" Thomas Holmes, 82 years old of Kings Mountain, NC passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Atrium Healthcare - Cleveland. Gene was Born in Winston Salem, North Carolina on February 7, 1938. He is the son of the late Campbell and Florence Holmes. Mr. Holmes served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to Gene's parents, he is preced- ed in death by his two broth- ers Fred and Jimmy Holmes; a sister, Betty Holmes Becco; and a daughter-in-law, Lori Holmes Bryant.
