8A Daily News – Thursday, May 16, 2013 8 area youth head to Wrangler State Finals Eight Tehama County Wrangler Jr. Rodeo contestants will be competing this weekend at the State Finals in Plymouth. The District 1 Jr. Division is for students in sixth through eighth grade. James Banister is an eighthgrader at Evergreen Middle School and will be competing in the Goat Tying, along with his brother, Justin Banister, a sixthgrader at Evergreen Middle School. He will also be competing in the Goat Tying. Caleb Heitman is an eighthgrader at Evergreen Middle School and will be competing in Team Roping, Goat Tying, Ribbon Roping, Breakaway Roping, and Chute Dogging. Kolton King is a seventh-grader at Bend Elementary School. He will compete in the Team Roping, Breakaway Roping, and Goat Tying. Mason Meadows is an eighth grader at Vista Middle School. He qualified in Bull Riding, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, and Chute Dogging. Casey Moore attends Reeds Creek School as an eighth-grader. Casey will compete in Team Roping, Bull Riding, Goat Tying, Chute Dogging, and Ribbon Roping. Mackenzie Moore attends Bend Elementary and is in seventh grade. She will compete in the Barrel Racing along with her sister, Mikayla Moore, who is in eighth grade. Mikayla also qualified in Barrel Racing. The District 1 State Finals for the Jr. Division is May 17-19.
