2 The Lion's Share "L iving in the ADPi house in college was a huge blessing to me. It exposed this small-town girl to many personalities, and greatly broadened my horizons and abilities to learn to work with many people. That blessing was compounded upon attending the reunion in 2014. In going around the room to share what each had been doing since graduation, I was in awe of the contributions to society being made by my sisters. We ARE making a difference, and I have to believe part of the impetus for that was learned when we were living in the chapter house." Connie's Alpha Omicron sisters opened her heart to the ways our lives are forever connected in ADPi. It was at that time that Connie decided to put the majority of her philanthropic support with Alpha Delta Pi and has graciously pledged a major gift to the Alpha Omicron Educational Housing Fund. "I truly believe the community and leadership seeds planted while being an undergraduate member will grow exponentially by the future members of ADPi. I also believe it greatly strengthens community bond and leadership opportunities to live together in a house. These women are the hope of our future!" Connie loves seeing the women who follow in her footsteps and their legacy in ADPi. It was Connie's family who first taught her about philanthropy. "My father was a successful first-generation farmer/rancher and cattle feedlot owner. I knew I wanted to give of my inheritance in a substantial way to ADPi, and the timing was opportune allowing me to do that." When the building campaign was launched, it was initially to kick-off construction. Connie has a vision to provide a home for our members that is debt-free! "I am not able to fully fund the house, but my gift is something I CAN do. I see other groups raising money for their new chapter houses so that the buildings are many times fully funded before construction is completed and I would love to help provide the same opportunity for Alpha Delta Pi. I'm inspired by our House Corporation Board leadership past and present who have worked and given sacrificially to help our house remain strong. "Alpha Delta Pi sisters are known and admired throughout Oklahoma for the dedication we show to our chapter. I am honored to be a member of Alpha Delta Pi, and to be in the company of so many great women whom I am blessed to call 'sister.' I look forward to standing with each of you when this new house is opened, celebrating our accomplishment together." More than $1,300,000 toward the $10,000,000 construction costs have been raised. The success of this project is made possible through the generosity of many donors. It's not too late to be part of this historic fundraising effort for Alpha Omicron. Naming opportunities are still available, and there is a way for every sister to be involved. Philanthropy is broadly defined as a love of mankind, and we all hold a special place in our heart for the experiences we have been given through our membership in Alpha Delta Pi. Connie's story and her love for ADPi inspires us! Together, we can provide for the future of Alpha Omicron chapter. Connie shares this message with all ADPis, "Please join me in giving what you can. Together, we can provide an opportunity that is unparalleled for the women who follow in our footsteps." We live for each other and for Alpha Delta Pi!
