PAGE 2 | GAMMA THETA H istorically, our undergraduate men have carried on the tradition of success, both at Florida and as a part of the international fraternity, by virtue of the 27 Peterson Significant Chapter Awards Gamma Theta we have earned—the fifth largest number out of all Sigma Chi chapters. Notably, Gamma Theta has received this award each of the past four years and in every decade since the creation of the Peterson Award in 1963. In addition, Gamma Theta has a long record of engagement in Sigma Chi's leadership and scholarship programs: • Hundreds of chapter officers have participated in the annual Leadership Workshop • 22 members have attended the Horizons Leadership Program since its inception in 1999 • 42 members are Sigma Chi Foundation scholarship recipients The chapter's Sigma Chi engagement has been particularly strong since 2015: Gamma Theta qualified as a Thomas Cowan Bell Chapter, which provided the undergraduates with even more opportunities for leadership and academic development. In spring 2019, the chapter achieved a GPA of 3.35 and was ranked 5 th out of 24 fraternities in the IFC. Additional chapter and individual recognition over the past year includes: • University of Florida Chapter of Excellence Award • Fall 2019 IM Football Champions • Sigma Chi Province Balfour Award Winner – Tyler Cameron '19 • Florida Blue Key Members – James Davis '20 and Alec Yagey '20 The active chapter proudly promotes and encourages brothers to be campus leaders. Here are some of the leadership roles among our undergraduate brothers: • Connor Bennett '19 – Head of Dance Marathon, which donated over $3.2 million last year to UF Health Shands Children's Hospital. • Alec Yagey – Cicerones Exec Board, working in SG Cabinet • Nick Petry '20 – previous Cicerones Treasurer • Cole Henry '20 – Fundraising executive for Project Makeover, one of the largest community service projects in the Gainesville area • Drew Goodwin '22 – Fundraiser and volunteer for Best Buddies Friendship Walk • David Kays '22 – UF Student Senate, Budget, and Appropriations Committee • Sam Fisher '21 – Agency Head of Nightlife Navigators • Justin Biggs '20 – March of Dimes Collegiate Council, Executive Board LEADERSHIP, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND HONORS 27 Peterson Awards in Gamma Theta's History
