OUR PROUD HERITAGE F or nearly 100 years, the Gamma Theta Chapter has been at the heart of Greek life at the University of Florida. From our founding to the present, our proud history speaks for itself through academic achievement, success in athletics, and leadership on campus. With more than 3,400 initiates, the Gamma Theta chapter has influenced the lives of thousands of men and cultivated lasting friendships in the process. Many of our best college memories are from our Sigma Chi experience. While many of our alumni have gone on to successful and distinguished careers in business, law, public service, technology, and many other endeavors, the common bond of our brotherhood, including our shared principles and values, remains. Most of us can trace the roots of our success to one place: 8 Fraternity Drive. Through Sigma Chi, we not only learned the importance of friendship, justice, and education, we acquired the valuable assets of leadership, organizational, and social skills, teamwork, and character. Oftentimes, these traits have been integral to our personal success and helped make us the men we are today. Our chapter house at 611 Fraternity Drive is clearly the focus of undergraduate life for Gamma Theta. It has been a home away from home for hundreds of young men in addition to being a classroom where our brothers learned to be men of honor. However, if we wish for Gamma Theta to continue its strong presence on the Florida campus, we must ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility. Now is the appropriate time to secure our prominence for the next chapter in our history. "Since our move to Fraternity Row in the mid-1960s, our chapter house has provided great memories for generations of Gamma Theta brothers. During this period, Sigma Chi has thrived as one of the consistently outstanding fraternities at the University of Florida. It is now time to turn the page to a new chapter in Gamma Theta's history. In order to remain among the top fraternities at the University of Florida, we must build a modern home for Gamma Theta that is in step with today's undergraduate students. Thank you for taking the time to review the plan we have outlined here. I hope you will join us as we work to secure the future of Gamma Theta." In Hoc, John Briggs '66 SIGMA CHI | PAGE 1
