A
er evaluating all options and seeking feedback from a
sample of Eta alumni, we believe it's imperative we act now
to renovate the house for Sigma Chi to remain a premier
fraternity at Ole Miss. We believe there is no better place for young
men to grow and learn than in the chapter house. Also, some of our
greatest memories are from our time living in the house. However,
that experience is being threatened by a deteriorating facility. e
dormitories, basement, dining hall, and common areas do not meet
the needs of the chapter today. Furthermore, Sigs today have a variety
of updated residence halls and off-campus apartments and condos
that are more appealing.
Sigma Chi will be a leader among fraternities at Ole Miss by being the
first fraternity in nearly a decade to renovate its house. Nine sororities
are in the process of renovating, expanding or rebuilding their houses.
We must invest in our home to remain competitive within the Greek
community.

"Although our chapter
has a storied history, it
seems to be in spite of—not
because of—the house.
My great uncle, Charles
Pickering, laughed when he
saw my room as he joked,
'Not much has changed
since I lived in that room
50 years ago.' is chapter
is life-changing for me and many other Sigs
before me, and it's time for a house renovation to
secure the continuance of Eta Chapter's legacy for
generations to come."
