4 n DORMITORIES e dormitories have never been renovated since the house was built in the 1950s. e condition of these rooms deters members from living in the house and lacks the accommodations students expect in their living quarters today. e rooms will be renovated to have modern accommodations and will have accessibility for all technological needs. n DINING HALL Every Sig has a meal plan through the house, which means our facility must be equipped to accommodate over 200 men for three meals a day. Our plan consists of expanding the dining area as well as adding a serving area for meals. PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS O ur house was built in 1957 and consequently the physical structure is showing its age. Although the house corporation and active membership have worked diligently to keep the house maintained, there are areas of the house that are woefully outdated and must be addressed. Because of this, the Sigma Chi House Corporation, alongside the undergraduate leadership, has developed the following plan to address the long-term viability of the Sigma Chi experience at Ole Miss. We've engaged the architectural services of PryorMorrow, a firm that has designed fraternity and sorority houses at Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Yates Construction will be the contractor and has been actively working to reduce the overall costs for the project. n COMMON AREAS Inspired by the Graduate Hotel, the common areas in the house, including the formal parlor and lounges, will be an attractive place for Sigs to socialize, study, and relax. n STUDY ROOMS It is our duty to ensure the house is providing not just a suitable space for Sigs to live but also a place that fosters good academic habits. Dedicated study rooms will provide brothers with work and study space for small groups and individuals. n THE CHAPTER ROOM Eta Chapter has never had an official chapter room to host Ritual. An additional third story will be added to the dormitories for a chapter room, which will provide a quality space for performing Ritual and chapter meetings.
