2 Pi Beta P hi Day 1 of recruitment and we are in high spirits. Sisters are ready for another day of recruitment. Pi Beta Phi sisters enjoy a day of sisterhood on the town. Sisters have fun on Bid Day. Annabelle Lohrenz '17 and Olivia Anderson '18 representing Minnesota Alpha at Convention 2019 in Washington, D.C. T o kick off the spring semester, we participated in Machy Days with our pairing of Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Gamma Rho. We joined houses for a barbecue, dance competition, volleyball match and other fun exchanges! Our dance placed third out of 11 pairings and the volleyball team earned the runner-up spot in the Greek tournament. We also hosted our third annual Pi Beta Phitness philanthropy event for Read > Lead > Achieve ® . Bierman Athletic Field filled with 500-plus friends, family and other Greek members ready to participate in a yoga class, raffle contest and enjoy some yummy snacks! The event raised more than $5,000. The rest of our spring semester was filled with fun sisterhoods, social exchanges, a date party and formal. A crowd favorite was our Mother's Day sisterhood where members handcrafted succulents following one of our Monday-night meetings. Additionally, we visited Dave and Busters and Warehouse Winery for a date party and formal, which were both a blast. Minnesota Alpha had 11 women achieve a 4.0 GPA and even more women on the Dean's List for their respective schools. As a chapter, we also hosted several study parties, including a study night with Kappa Alpha Theta, a neighboring sorority house. In the spring, we had 27 seniors graduate, and many went on to graduate school and new career opportunities across the globe! In addition to our chapter's incredible internal achievements, the accomplishments of our active and alumnae members are worth noting. Olivia Anderson '18 was awarded Outstanding New Member of the Year for her dedication to Pi Phi and the Greek community. Anna Sabiston '02 received Greek Alumna of the Year for her outstanding work with Pi Phi and CHC. It is an honor that the Greek community recognized the hard work of our active and alumnae members. Olivia Anderson '18, two members of AAC and I attended convention this summer to represent our chapter and its successes. In addition to being celebrated on the U of M campus, Minnesota Alpha was also honored with the Chapter of Excellence Award for 2018. Out of Pi Beta Phi's more than 140 international chapters, Minnesota Alpha was one of only eight chapters to be ranked as a Chapter of Excellence.
