p. 5 SIGMA PHI EPSILON T exas Alpha has made strides to ensure our tradition of greatness continues. The chapter achieved an outstanding spring GPA and the recruitment team successfully signed 49 young men. Members have represented Texas Alpha at prestigious internships across the nation. A total of 20 brothers attended various events such as the Carlson Leadership Academy, Conclave, and the Ruck Leadership Institute. Academics on the Mind This spring, we displayed continued excellence in academics, earning a 3.343 GPA, ranking us above the all-fraternity and all-men averages. Multiple brothers are active in the Business Honors, Plan II Honors, and Engineering Honors programs. Texas Alpha Excels in Philanthropy Last semester, members contributed to the community by serving over 1,000 hours with organizations such as the Zavala After-school Program (ZAP). At ZAP, volunteers assist Zavala Elementary students with schoolwork and play games. At our annual dodgeball tournament, the chapter raised over $12,000 for local charities focusing on youth homelessness. Notable Texas Alphas Deep involvement and leadership on campus is one of the proxies we use to measure the strength of the Texas Alpha Chapter. Members serve as leaders in campus organizations including the Texas Equity Group, University Investors Association, ZAP, Texas Energy Management Student Association, DECA, Phi Gamma Nu Business Fraternity, and UT Interfraternity Council. We also have maintained heavy involvement with Texas Silver Spurs, including one Bevo handler. Keep Texas Alpha on Your Calendar! Alumni and parents are encouraged to join us for all of the tailgates at the house and on campus. Please reach out to me with any suggestions and questions that may be on your mind, and I look forward to seeing you this fall at tailgates.
