Through his leadership, funds were raised to the rebuilding of the chapter house after the fire in December 1979. He also receieved a Sigma Phi Epsilon Citation award. MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Happy Birthday to Us Save the weekend of April 17-18, 2020, to come back to Austin and celebrate the 90th anniversary of Texas Alpha. More details will be released as the date nears. Our plans are to host a Friday night happy hour followed by a possible luncheon or dinner at the house on Saturday with valet parking. Grand Chapter President Tom Jelke, Florida International University '90, will be visiting with us. Another special guest will be TXA Honorary brother and recent Order of the Golden Heart recipient Jay Hurt, Davidson '88. To top it all off, two members of the Grand Chapter Board of Directors will be in attendance, Bruce Anderson '71 and National Treasurer Daniel McVeigh, Texas Wesleyan '90. Dan's son, Grant, is a legacy member of our fall 2019 class. It is not every day you turn 90, so I hope you can attend, tell the old war stories, meet our outstanding younger brothers, and just have a good time celebrating our brotherhood and lifelong friendships!
