He served during WWII in the Mediterranean on the coasts of Africa and Sicily. He was transferred to Europe for the remainder of the conflict. Carl worked as the communications and public relations manager for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. After his retirement in 1987, he served for three years in the same capacity for the Urban Parish Cooperative, a group of center-city Catholic churches. Throughout his life, Carl has served as president for many local organizations. He has also volunteered for several community organizations and in 1983 he received the Jefferson Award for community service. He enjoys being a choir singer in his church, life in Indianapolis, and spending time with his nine children, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Email: hennhouse33@gmail.com John Steinberger '52 was in a group of 27 pledges to Beta Zeta in 1949. The group was so big that several members had to live in an annex. The military draft took its toll and only nine of the 27 survived the first year. John transferred to Purdue in 1951 and enjoyed Delt friends at Gamma Lambda in 1951 and 1952. Penny, his wife, is a Tri Delta at Butler and they met when Dwight was a houseboy at the Tri Delta house. Dwight's son, Scott Bridge '82, was awarded the Butler University Parent Council's 2017-18 Award of Excellence in June 2018. Dwight resides in Lebanon, Ind. Email: debridge1@comcast.net John Ross '61 was president of Beta Zeta following Paul Furnish '59 and Thomas Simmons '61. He formally retired from HSBC in 1993. Since then, he has consulted various companies for 15 years. He is partially disabled but that doesn't stop him from enjoying life in Westmont, Ill. Martin Auron '74 shares they just lost a brother, Barry Fromm '72, in November 2018. Martin says he was a great recruitment chairman and an all-around great brother. He hopes to see all his brothers from the class of 1971-78 back to Butler for Homecoming 2019 for a reunion. For more information, contact Robert Berg '74. Thomas Farrell '76 lives in Indianapolis and is the owner and president of six different businesses: Educational Broadband Corp., Frost Gate Development Co. Inc, Broadband Advisors Corp., Broadband Properties Corp., Wisper II, LLC, and Southern Seed, LLC. His son, Greg, is a Delt at the Florida State chapter. He is now a pre-planning advisor with Dignity Memorial and still a certified insurance counselor as well. He is enjoying life in Arlington Heights, Ill. The article stated Scott is a Butler University professor and was awarded the Butler University Parent Council's 2017-18 Award of Excellence. The award is given to a faculty member who exemplifies "a helpful nature and concern for students and has contributed to students' learning and development."
